Shanta is a Director, Cinematographer, and Mountaineer and Line Producer based in Kathmandu, Nepal, and has been working in filmmaking since 2006. She has been directing and producing TV shows & documentaries with narratives focusing on social issues, marginalised communities, and outdoor and adventure stories. Her work has been screened on National and International networks, such as NatGeo, Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Animal Planet, etc.

Born into a life of discrimination, stigma, and exclusion, she believes in amplifying marginalized voices through her films.

She is a founder and Director of Shanta Nepali Productions, a leading film production company in Nepal. Shanta also created Nepali Female Filmmakers, a supportive community for female filmmakers. She founded the Shanta Nepali Foundation, which empowers storytellers from marginalized communities to reach their filmmaking goals and visions.

 

SANJEEV RATNA SHAKYA

Sanjeev Ratna Shakya is a film graduate and a freelance film maker known for his work as Colorist, Editor and Director. He has worked in +100 commercials, +50 music videos, +50 short films +30 Documentary films and 4 feature Films. He has worked as a Producer of Himalaya Roadies (Franchise of MTV Roadies, Ko Bancha Karorpati (Franchise of Who wants to be a Millionaire). He also works as a post-production mentor for various organizations. Some of the Films he had worked on has also been selected in international film festival like

Andej Adhikari is a seasoned filmmaker with a rich and diverse background in the industry. With three years of dedicated experience, he has contributed his multifaceted talents to various projects, showcasing his versatility as a researcher, writer, producer, and production manager. In 2021, he played a pivotal role as a Field Producer in the TV series "Jaat Ko Prasna". Also, he lent his expertise to the TV documentary series "The Game Changer" as a Researcher and Writer. His passion and dedication bore fruit in 2022 when his work as a Researcher and Writer in the documentary "Climbing Temperature" earned it selection at prestigious festivals such as the Banff Mountain Film Festival, Tasveer Film Festival, and Eugene Environmental Film Festival.
In 2023, Andej continued to make waves in the industry, taking on the role of Unit Production Manager for the international feature film "The Shameless." His commitment to storytelling and production excellence continues to shape the cinematic landscape. Rewrite this and make it less cheesy.

Nimesh Puri is an accomplished film production manager and line producer with over eight years of experience in the industry. Since 2015, he has been a driving force behind the successful execution of numerous national and international film projects. With meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, Nimesh efficiently manages complex production processes, ensuring seamless coordination between departments and stakeholders. His expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation maximizes efficiency and minimizes costs. Nimesh's strong leadership, talent for assembling exceptional crews, and ability to make critical decisions under pressure consistently result in completing projects within demanding deadlines. With a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the production process, Nimesh Puri contributes significantly to the film production landscape, leaving an indelible mark on every project he undertakes.

With more than 12 years of experience in media, Presca has gained insights into analyzing how media reflects, represents, and influences society. Furthermore, this experience has greatly enriched their practical skills in professional communication, public relations/communication planning, and public speaking. Presca is a dedicated educator with a strong background in the non-profit sector, adept at aligning value creation with organizational goals, missions, and practices. Her expertise lies in developing ideas, programs, and implementation strategies for education-based projects and academics. In addition, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of media, including program production, public relations, and communications.

SARA FRENNING

Research Intern

Sara Frenning holds a Master of Science in Human Ecology from Lunds University, Sweden. Her Master's thesis was focused on the unjust treatment of mountain tourism workers in Nepal, and her areas of expertise included coloniality, human rights, climate change, women empowerment, and globalization issues. Social justice and de-colonial approaches are deeply interwoven in her work as a researcher and writer.

Sara has been based in Kathmandu, Nepal, for the last year, conducting research and managing projects. She is an avid practitioner of outdoor and adventure sports and is passionate about amplifying stories from places she visits.
